Working as an engagement and wedding photographer, I have the wonderful opportunity to meet amazing couples each time I go for a session. While I was in Arizona, I had the chance to do just that as I met with a picture perfect couple named Kadria and Derek. Meeting at the Arizona Science Center and Heritage Square, everything about them radiated love and happiness. I knew that it was going to be a great day – they looked awesome together!

The Arizona Science Center and Heritage Square were quite lovely to visit. With gorgeous buildings and great little areas to pose this loving couple for pictures, it made the perfect spot for these two to share a romantic time together. Endless smiles spread across their faces and as they posed in front of one of the heritage buildings, it made my mind think of this couple’s future together when they had a house of their own and shared a beautiful marriage. They were definitely on their way there already with their beautiful engagement and a wedding that was soon to be on the way. How great is love? It’s such a wonderful thing!

Kadria and Derek were definitely a fun loving couple and I couldn’t get enough of their positive energy. Spending their time walking around, posing with the letters of their first names as they sat on a bench, or even dancing around in one of the areas we had chosen for pictures, they had a love that just wouldn’t quit! Looking stunning in two different outfits, the attraction I saw between Kadria and Derek even had me smiling that day. With a wonderful friendship, a beautiful relationship, and a chemistry that always made them want to be close to each other, this smiling and happy couple was a picture perfect example of just how great love can be. Thank you for our wonderful day together and may your future hold just as many wonderful smiles!

It’s always a wonderful feeling to be able to work with a couple and to capture their memories of love. That’s exactly what I was able to do with Ashley and Gilbert as they spent a wonderful engagement session with me at the Scottsdale Civic Center in Arizona. These two were always full of smiles and constantly were having a great time. Arriving in stunning outfits and a love that just wouldn’t quit, it was amazing to see how much they both lit up when they were together.

Ashley and Gilbert definitely have an interesting story that brought them to where they are now. Coming from two different areas – Ashley being raised mostly in Washington and Gilbert in Arizona – college was a large factor in allowing them to meet. Both being on a basketball team, they both had seen each other around but had never talked. This changed however when they both attended a basketball party. When Ashley had been asked to dance by another guy, she grabbed on to Gilbert’s arm and said that they had to go. Even though they hadn’t talked and she was just using him as more of a scapegoat, they both hit it off and actually talked until 9 in the morning. The day after, Ashley called her sister and told her about what had happened and that Gilbert would be the man she would marry. Even though her sister thought she was crazy, apparently she was right since they are now happily engaged!

Being inseparable from that day on, they never lost contact – even when Ashley went to California for awhile. As soon as she came back to Arizona, their relationship finally fully bloomed and it wasn’t long before Gilbert’s mind was made up. Buying a ring to propose with, he headed to Ashley’s dad’s to ask permission. After that, he called Ashley on his way back to their place to meet him there. As she did so, Gilbert got out of his truck and stood in the middle of the road with her while he professed his love. Then finally, kneeling on one knee, Gilbert proposed. Even though it was a simple proposal, it was still one that took Ashley’s breath away and was filled with romance. Needless to say, they finally were on the road to marriage!

All those emotions from throughout their relationship could be clearly seen as these two posed in the park setting we had decided on. Using the large sculptured letters that spelled “Love” to our advantage, each picture of them was stunning. With the light shining romantically all around them, it was truly an inspirational moment. Congratulations to this beautiful couple! Thank you for sharing your wonderful journey with me!

Ojen and Hrant were quite the couple as I shot pictures of them on their wedding day at Anoush Glenoaks Ballroom in Glendale, CA area. Not only were they filled with smiles and love, but they definitely went all out for their Armenian wedding. Taking place at not one, not two, but three locations, each place was breathtaking all on its own! Starting at the United Armenian Congregational Church for their ceremony, they then travelled to the City Hall in Pasadena for their pictures before ending the evening at the awe-inspiring venue of Anoush Banquet Hall in Glendale. It was such an unbelievably wonderful wedding and I still find myself in awe every time I go through their pictures!

Let me share some of the highlights of this wonderful day. Arriving in a white limo with a flurry of colors from the bridesmaids and flowers, Ojen looked exquisite. Having her hair drawn up into a bump with a glittering head piece around it, everything about her looked awesome! Entering into the church with an adorable flower girl leading the way, Ojen looked stunning as she walked arm in arm with her father through the decorated aisle walkway. They then proceeded to go about the Armenian ceremony which included lighting candles together as a couple and reading out some verses as well. Both of them looked deeply in love as they did so and the church environment only seemed to brighten their occasion.

Next came one of my favorite parts of the wedding – the wedding party pictures! Gathering onto a bus after the ceremony, they all travelled to the wonderful location of City Hall in Pasadena. The building itself was amazing with its architecture and certainly offered a stunning scene to focus on. Everyone looked great and the environment was perfect!

After that, we all headed to the reception hall that was at the Anoush Banquet Hall in Glendale. Although we seemed to be moving around a lot, as soon as we walked into the hall, I could see why they chose to! This venue was phenomenal! I was sure it was pricey as well, but it was well worth it! You could see the quality in every little bit of the room. Filled with color, lighting, draped material, and exquisite designs, I was literally left breathless! Words can do no justice for describing it, which is why I was glad I was taking pictures! Celebrating in style and having an awesome time sharing their wonderful evening, Ojen and Hrant not only looked gorgeous together, but made my heart melt with their amazing qualities of love! Congrats to the both of them on their fabulous day!

Hi everyone! Today I just wanted to share this shot from Mike’s underwater maternity photo session! Going to New York City to capture stunning images like this one, I thought that Mike and Haris were wonderful! Holding each other close and protectively holding that adorable baby bump that Mike had, it was a cute beginning to their family.
For this particular session, I loved how the couple wanting to go above and beyond what photographers usually do with maternity sessions, I made this one very personal. And I thought that the end result was quite worth it! I mean, just look at those two as they pose! They look amazing! My goal is to provide a new level of maternity photography and I think that Mike’s session was a great start. I can’t wait until I can do more of them!

I was once again in New York City for this next session with Mike & Haris. Do you remember Mike and Haris from their engagement session and wedding celebration in New york City last year? If not, you should check them out HERE and HERE. This time however, I was meeting up with them for something even more exciting – for her maternity session! That’s right; Mike and Haris were going to be having a child soon! I had become friends with these two and it was incredible to be able to work with them again and see the progression of their relationship. They were still every bit in love as before and the bond between them only seemed stronger. It was wonderful!

Taking different pictures around the city, Mike’s baby bump was adorable. Having Haris there made the look of their little family complete. Always holding each other close and protectively resting their hands over the growing life inside of Mike, it was a wonderful scene to behold. I knew then and there that they would be great parents!

Mike’s’ maternity session is a great example of what I like to do with soon to be mothers. Unlike most photographers who take these kinds of pictures in a studio, I like to choose outdoor locations to show off their natural beauty. Not only do you get to focus on the stunning mother’s with their cute baby bumps, but you can also make them look their best by having stunning scenery around them like cityscapes at night, or natural surroundings. It always just brings something out in people that you just can’t capture in a studio. Just look at Mike.. She looks amazing! My goal is to always make each session unique, creative, and stunning. I want to go above and beyond what normal photographers do with maternity sessions and find a way to make each mother as beautiful as she can be. I want to take maternity photography to an all new level and it was great to achieve this when working with Haris and Mike. I can’t wait to meet their little one as well!

David and Stella – wow were these two amazing! Meeting these smiling faces for their engagement session at the Walt Disney Concert Hall, I couldn’t believe how happy they were together. Like a true couple in love, David and Stella constantly showed me examples of not only their love, but also their beautiful chemistry. The air around them buzzed with excitement; almost as if that chemistry was filling the air with sparks of their love. It was the real thing alright, and I was the lucky one that got to capture it!

David and Stella met for the first time in Korea. I know, quite a long way from Los Angeles, right? Well this was because they both happened to be studying abroad. Coming from Cerritos originally, this couple just happened to be in the right place at the right time. David had gone to study abroad through his schooling at UCR while Stella had gone through her schooling at Biola. Finding out that they had even gone to the same high school together and that Stella already knew his cousin and younger brother from being in the same class as them, it was an amazing connection from the start. As they continued to study abroad together and enjoyed the journey of their relationship, they found that they really had something great. Enjoying each other’s company and constantly finding new restaurants to explore together even as they returned to California, it wasn’t long before David was sure that she was the one.

Coming up with a surprise birthday party for Stella, it was the perfect environment for David to propose. Programming Christmas lights to flicker in tune with a Bruno Mars song called Marry You, David proposed as it was playing. Stella of course said yes and they were soon happily engaged. With such a wonderful story that brought them together, it was no wonder that they were always smiling! As I snapped pictures of them, including some with their plush character from Despicable Me and some balloons, I knew that these two would always find a way to have a great time and keep those beautiful smiles upon their faces. Love – what a wonderful thing to share! I wish them all the best; now and for forever!

As people travel the world seeking success and fortune, some things in life take a back seat as they venture on into the future. But no one likes to be alone or not have anyone to share their memories with. Friends, loved ones, significant others – these all are people who hold a special place in your life at some point. Even through the busiest times in life, these people will always be remembered and welcomed to share in on your life.

It goes without saying that everyone is different. Some people are social butterflies while others are more – should we say – conservative towards others. No matter how we view social interactions however, we all usually have that one person that we rely on, tell everything to, and have a special bond with. When something bad happens, you go to this person. When something really good and exciting happens, we go to this person. They are a source of comfort and friendship – someone you look forward to seeing or talking to.

It’s great to see people interacting with others – especially friendships. You can literally see the way their eyes light up as they greet each other and begin to talk about their lives. They seem excited and filled with this lively abundance of energy. Even in the toughest times, your friend can be the one who helps you through it and can cause that happiness again to stir inside of you. Even if you sometimes take advantage of your friends like some do, there’s always a point where friends are always good to have.

Just like in friendships, you can see this same happiness when you look towards a loving couple. A relationship is basically like the ultimate friendship – you have someone to share everything with but it has incredible add-ons. Filled with love, romance, desire, friendship, and closeness, it has a type of euphoria attached to it that is hard to find with other connections in your life. With just one kiss or hug, this person can add positivity to any day. They add a spark to your life that makes you feel more complete and brightens up your life.

Friendships and relationships are two things that will always remain important at some point. Humans are naturally social creatures so it makes sense that none of us “truly” like to be alone all of the time. Friends and relationships provide a way to express yourself and feel a sense of belonging in life. With each moment spent with them, you are able to have beautiful memories to fill your life with happiness. So what’s the point in all this? Well, just remember to cherish your friends and loved ones while they are still around – you never know when you might need someone to share a smile with to brighten your day.

Whoever came up with the phrase “In with the new, out with the old” certainly wasn’t talking about the past. More than likely they were talking about clothes! Maybe they were even talking about certain items like cars or brushes. Whatever they were talking about, let’s make sure we don’t use this with all elements of our life, alright?

Although there is a time and place for everything, not all things should just be thrown to the wayside. There are certain things that should be held onto so that we can remember the importance of what we have. What am I talking about you ask? Well I am talking about remembering elements in our past so that we can have a better future.

Just like items that may be carelessly tossed aside and replaced with new things, sometimes people forget the important things that have contributed to where they are now. In a relationship, a person may forget something that happened a long time ago, but this only makes them forget about why they fell in love with the person they are with. For example, let’s say someone forgot how they met their significant other or forgot what made them attracted to them. Without this to keep them going, they may lose interest or not appreciate the person they are still with. This is true as well if they forgot the struggles they have gone through to be together, or life changing events that only were able to happen due to each other. These things are important to remember. It makes our relationship have a solid foundation and without it, well then you just have a building that could easily collapse under the right circumstances.

If you look around certain places around the world, there are ghost towns that can be found. These ghost towns used to be a booming place for people to live until something went wrong. It’s interesting to visit these places and perhaps see where they had their downfall. But you don’t want a ghost town coming from your relationship, so what is there that you can do? Well remembering your love for each other, events that happened, and also maybe even looking to see where your strong points were can help. Just because you have new memories and new events, it doesn’t mean that the ones in the past are less important. Remembering the past is sometimes just as important as planning for the future. Don’t let your memories be lost to a ghost town of a relationship. Remember, cherish, and hold tight to those special memories. You never know when you might need them.

There are no words to describe how beautiful the relationship was between Mony and Lionel as I took pictures of them for their engagement session. Choosing a park in Los Angeles for their picnic themed shoot, the day couldn’t have been any more perfect. The sun was shining brilliantly all around us and the park offered a great hidden place for just the two of them to enjoy the day together.

Beginning our day by walking around the park, I immediately was aware of the powerful connection these two had. Meeting through EHarmony, they marked the fourth couple I have taken pictures of that had met through this site! Yes, the FOURTH! It must be a site that really works. Meeting for the first time at Yogurtland, they had immediately hit it off. It wasn’t long before their relationship grew into something more. Wanting to spend forever with Mony, Lionel had arranged a perfect set up to propose. Taking Mony out, they returned to her apartment which Lionel had transformed into the perfect stage for his proposal. Rose petals lined the stairs, tealight candles lined the room, and the balcony had a candlelit table for two with wine and chocolate covered strawberries. Needless to say, when Lionel knelt down on one knee, his romantic gestures took Mony’s breath away.

Their relationship had already been filled with happiness and a beautiful love story. Capturing these moments for them as they created new memories during their session made it a special day for me. The way their faces lit up with joyful smiles just made the day complete. Having fun as they roamed around this forested area around us, I felt like I had joined them in a dreamy paradise of love. With the warm sun on our backs, these two picked out a nice spot to share a romantic little picnic together. Spreading out a blanket on the ground and bringing out some glasses with a bottle of wine, it was the perfect equation for a wonderful romantic occasion. Posing together with love shining in their eyes, I couldn’t believe just how beautiful the two of them were. It was truly a session that made me believe in the miracle of love.

A relationship has a beginning, a middle, and an end. When you find that perfect someone though, you want it to always last forever. Working hard to forge a strong foundation and to keep that spark alive, it’s a journey that is continuous. Through this journey, many things can happen. But as love grows between two people, it isn’t long before a person wants to show their dedication and undying love.

I’m sure there are many people out there who just follow suit and buy a ring for their significant other just because it’s something they have seen others do. But what is it really saying when you do? There are many types of rings such as a promise ring, an engagement ring, or a wedding ring. These could also signify the course of the relationship. The promise ring is the beginning, the engagement ring is the middle, and the wedding ring is the one that marks the end of a single life and a start of a married one. The wedding ring should be the end since the relationship has led you to the point where that person is the one that is forever.

But back to the question: what is it that you are really saying when you put a ring on someone? A ring is a symbolic gesture. If you look at a ring, it doesn’t have a beginning. It doesn’t have a middle. And it certainly doesn’t have an end. It goes on forever in a perfect circle. When you place this perfect circle over a person’s finger, the symbolism follows into your relationship. This means that you’re dedicating your life to them since the relationship should continue on forever – just like that circle. So when choosing that “perfect” ring, just keep in mind the meaning of it. It isn’t just a symbol of fleeting love, or something you do when you’ve been with someone for a certain number of years – it’s something that should last forever as your love grows together through the journey of life. With this ring, may your love and dedication always be remembered in the reflection of its shining perfect circle.

It was a beautiful love story that I was lucky enough to stumble upon! Joining Carrie and Scott in Los Angeles for their engagement session, I couldn’t get over what a wonderful pair they made! Starting off just taking a stroll along the Venice Canals, they also went to the Santa Monica Pier and the LACMA that day. Every spot that we visited, these two looked amazing! Capturing each moment of their love, it was great to be around these two!

Meeting through a birthday party for their friends, it didn’t take long for these two to find a connection between them. Both having a love of music, the outdoors, hiking, bike rides, and other activities, these two were in love before they knew it! Eventually going on a trip together to the Mayan Riviera, it must have been a romantic sight as Scott proposed to Carrie beneath the starry sky! If that wasn’t a great way to propose, then I don’t know what is!

Throughout our session together, there were countless times where I could see the loving spark between them as it lit up their faces with smiles. Always having fun whether we were at the Venice Canals, in the sandy beaches of the Santa Monica Pier, or at the LACMA, these two were so amazing to work with! Just take a look at all their pictures and you can see a glimpse of the beautiful chemistry they share! They truly are a gorgeous couple – inside and out! Thanks for the wonderful day!

Choosing the right professional for your photography needs can be a very daunting task. There are so many out there and you never know what your pictures will be like until they are already taken and given to you. This can be a scary ordeal to consider. Everyone wants their wedding pictures to be perfect. So how do you get the right photographer for you? Well there are no guarantees unfortunately, but here are some ways to help get you on the right track!

1. What Do You Want From Your Photographer? This is a simple yet complex answer that you NEED to think of before you even start searching for a photographer. KNOW WHAT YOU WANT. Knowing the style, price range, date and hours needed, required shots, package requirements, type of attire you’d like them to wear, personality (this is very important), and any other details that you can come up with, all will help you in the long run. With this information, you can narrow down the thousands of photographers out there and come up with a nice list that you know can deliver what you’re looking for.

2. Meet, Greet, and Ask Questions. Setting up an appointment and meeting with your potential photographers is a very important step. Meeting them in person can give you a good indication on whether or not they are compatible with what you are looking for. Meeting them enables you to see what their personality is like, gives you a chance to ask questions, allows you to discuss more in detail about your requirements and options for your package, and also can give you a chance to get your hands on one of their portfolios to look at. You never know what a person is like until you meet them, so it is always a great chance to see what you’re up against. While you’re there, also make sure that you ask a lot of questions. The more the better!

3. Portfolio and Experience Level. These two are probably the two key elements when choosing a photographer. When you meet with them, make SURE you take a look at their portfolios (click here to see mine). Looking online is one thing, but looking at more of their work in albums allows you to ensure quality. With the portfolio, it gives you an idea of their experience level, but you also want to ask them about it. Ask how many weddings they’ve done, how many years of experience they’ve had, what their training has been? Never be afraid to ask too many questions. You are hiring them and you need to make sure that they are a seasoned photographer that can deliver the pictures you are looking for.

Always keep these top three in mind when you are looking for a photographer – especially for your wedding! With these at the forefront of your thoughts, you can have much more success in finding the perfect photographer! All the best and happy hunting!

There was magic in the air as Sarah and Kris came together for their romantic wedding day in Yorba Linda. Having their beautiful ceremony service in the Calvary Chapel Church, this stunning couple had their wedding party pictures before they headed to their reception at the Yorba Linda Community Center. Both places offered great details and a wonderful romantic atmosphere for this precious couple. They looked amazingly in love!

You might remember Sarah and Kris from their gorgeous engagement session at the Griffith Observatory and the LACMA. If not, you should check out their wonderful session HERE. Since then, their love for each other had only seemed to grow stronger since the couple I saw before me was simply gorgeous! Head over heels for each other and full of joy, these two really looked great together. Their ceremony was equally stunning with its stone wall as the main backdrop behind them during their vows. It added a lovely touch of romance as they stood together in the church. As they kissed their first kiss as husband and wife, it was truly a magical scene that left everyone in awe. The environment and setting around them created a beautiful stage for their moment of love.

Having a unique train at their disposal, we took advantage of this rustic charm. Having their wedding pictures taken alongside it, everyone looked great and everyone was smiling. It was truly awesome to see such a happy couple! And did I mention that they looked perfect for each other? After the pictures were done though, we all headed into their fantastic reception hall. The entire decor was amazing and it was set up wonderfully for this festive evening. Having their special first dance that was filled with smiles and laughter, these two made you believe in love! With a gorgeous cake that had a unique wedding topper of Thor – yes the one from that awesome movie we all know – you couldn’t wait to see these two cut it! Everything about them spoke of love and togetherness. They were truly a match made in heaven.
